This medal celebrates Mirjana’s inspirational work and was awarded at the European Astronomical Society annual meeting in June 2021. Mirjana gave a plenary presentation that was attended by more than 550 participants.
She inspired the audience, by giving them a picture on how Astronomy can be used in Africa to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal, of which improving the situation of women is one. The audience was left in awe of Mirjana’s continuous efforts to benefit society, and women and girls in particular.
